Initially wings and fuselage were marked with a red and black roundel,
with a yellow star on the inner part. The Angolan flag served as a fin
marking. Later a roundel split by a wavy line, red over black, and bearing
a yellow star was used, with the new flag on the fin.

I may add that according to this book the 1975 roundels (both) were
accompanied by a fin flash - horizontal red over black with yellow star in
the center, while since 1980 the roundel itself is also used as fin flash.
Contradicting info on this
site, which show the 1975-80 roundel also used as fin flash, but as
the writer admits, he has problems to get accurate information. - the Cochrane
and Elliott review seems to me a bit uncertain too.....
